Florence Marie Simonis, RSM, a Sisters of Mercy returned to her loving and merciful God in peace, after suffering many years of physical disability. She died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at St. Bernardine Home in Fremont, OH. Sr. Florence Marie Simonis, formerly Sr.

Mary Laurene, RSM. was born August 19, 1917 in Toledo, OH to Frances (Derflinger) and Charles Simonis. A graduate of Libbey High School, Toledo, she received her Baccalaureate Degree In education and history from Mary Manse College in Toledo, OH and was certified by the State of Ohio as an elementary school teacher. Sr. Florence Marie entered the Sisters of Mercy in Dubuque, Iowa on February 2, 1937 and professed her final vows in Cincinnati, OH in 1942.

For forty-seven (47) years her ministry as a Sister of Mercy was teaching primary grades in elementary schools in Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee, Holy Angels School in Sandusky, OH, St. Vincent de Paul School in Toledo, OH, St. Ann's School in Fremont, OH, St. Mary's School in Vermilion, OH, St. Peter 's School in Upper Sandusky, OH, St.

Catherine School in Toledo, OH, and Ascension School in Cleveland, OH. She then transferred to Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center and was responsible for Altar Breads and Dietary duties. In 1995, she retired at St. Bernardine Home in Fremont, OH. Sr.

Florence Marie was a quiet, loving, happy, unassuming Sister. She had a infectious smile. When she was able, she loved to paint sun catchers, play cards, and take long walks. Her passion was praying and reading. She was reading her library book the evening before she died.

Sr. Florence Marie is survived by nieces and nephews, especially Robert Osenbaugh, Winnie M. Chasteen, Robert Simonis, Linda Kuehling, Joyce Hamrich, Leigh Dzuk, Barbara Gruber, and her Sisters in the Mercy Community. Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Robert Simonis; and her sisters, Mary Osenbaugh and Ruth Simonis Visitation and Funeral Mass will be at St. Bernardine Home in Fremont, OH on Wednesday, November 10, 2010.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel at St. Bernardine Home.

FOSTORIA: Ernest "Ernie" V. Folk, 95, of Lytle St, Fostoria died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born October 22, 1915 in Leipsic, OH to Albert Minnie (Derringer) Folk. He married Lillian G. Reichert May 13, 1939 in Auburn, Indiana.

She preceded him in death on April 6, 2005. Surviving are daughters, Diana J. Geiger of Lima, Clara Folk of Fostoria; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preced in death by his parents; wife; son, Alan Lee Folk; brother, Howard Folk; sisters, Myrtle Reynolds, Fern Sproul, Dorothy Beach, Alberta Rutherford; and great granddaughter, Samantha Salisbury. He retired from Atlas Crankshaft as a Tool Die maker after 39 years.

He was a Fostoria High School Graduate. He was a member of Fostoria Baptist Church. He enjoyed building and making things and played and was a member of a Harmonica club in Florida. Services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, Ohio with Pastor Brian Alexander officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. and 1 hour before service Thursday both at the funeral home Burial will take place at Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia, Ohio. Riffle, age 65, formerly of Elmore, OH most recently of New Port Richey, FL passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 6, 2010. He was born on December 27, 1944 to Roy and Meda (Camp) Riffle in Radcliff, OH.

He was married to Catherine Ford for 20 years and she survives. Johnny was an Army Veteran and served in Korea. For 35 years he worked at Modine Manufacturing, Pemberville, OH as a quality controller. Surviving Johnny is his wife, Catherine; sister, Jean (Tim) Magsig of Luckey, OH; brother, Jackie (Joyce) Riffle of Woodville, OH; nieces, nephews; and his beloved Boxer dog, Bosco. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 2-4 6-8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St. Woodville, OH where funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg, OH.

"Jack" Beatty i PORT CLINTON: John P. "Jack" Beatty, 85, of Port Clinton, died on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Riverview Nursing Home. He was born on July 3, 1925 in Mingo Junction, OH to Jay and Mary (Hudak) Beatty.

Jack was a Navy Veteran serving on the USS Columbia in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He worked at the K. Kessler Company for 25 years the last 17 of them as the president and general manager. Jack founded the Great Lakes Tank and Steel Company in 1973 which he headed until his retirement. On November 12, 1948 he married Alice Rothgery and she preceded him in death on February 20, 2005.

Jack was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. He was past member of American Water Works Association, the Elks, the American Legion, and a life member of the VFW. Jack enjoyed boating, wood carving and working around his home on the lake. He was very proud of his family. Surviving are children, Cathy (Dick) Celek of Fremont, Eric Beatty of Toledo and daughter-in-law, Vicki Beatty of Texas; brothers, Thomas Beatty of Nor-walk and Robert Beatty of New York; sister, Jean Dickman of Fremont; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sons, Steven and Michael; sisters, Rosemary Cordrey and Agnes Fisher. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 10th from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home Cremation Services, Fremont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following visitation 11:00 a.m.

at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont with Rev. David Bruning officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Lindsay, 89, of Gibson St, Fremont, OH, passed away on November 8, 2010 in Sandusky, OH. He was born on April 12, 1921 in Riley Township, OH to Glenn and Alma (Ohms) Lindsay. He married Dorothy Hoffman on July 26, 1948 and she survives.

Harold served in the US Army during WWII where he received the EAME Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars; Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon; Philippine Liberation Ribbon; Good Conduct Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He served in Northern France, Rhineland and was on the invasion of Normandy. Harold worked as a Die Setter for Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky for 27 years until he retired in 1983. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Harold enjoyed bird hunting, fishing and loved to watch sports on TV. Harold is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Lindsay; children, Patricia A. Kennelly of Brookville, FL, Karen S. (Gary) Spaide of Fremont, OH, Vicki J.

(Alan) Bennett of Fremont, OH, Randi L. (Larry) Blechinger of Birmingham, AL, Robert J. (Julie) Lindsay of Fremont, OH and Gregory L. Paul on February 11, 1977 and he passed away on October 24, 1999. She is survived by sons, Wayne (Lynn) St. Clair of Bradner, Larry (Connie) St. Clair of Helena, Russell (Ava) St. Clair of Bowling Green; daughter, Barbara (Ralph deceased) Shammo of Gibsonburg; stepson, Paul (Maria) Paul of Bradner; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond; and a sister, Doris Stahl. Emily worked at Risingsun Elementary and Junior High as librarian from 1971 to 1978. She then worked for Bragg Insurance in Bradner. She was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bradner, former member of Faith Lutheran Church in Haines City, Florida, very active in the Elmore Senior Citizens and lead bible study at various churches around the area.

A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2010 in the auditorium at Otterbein-Portage Valley Nursing Home in Pemberville with Reverend Pete Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Bradner Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Bridge Home Health Hospice or to the Luther Home of Mercy. Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio is handling the arrangements.

Audrey M. Lester FREMONT: Audrey M. Lester, 80, of Linden Fremont, passed away on November 8, 2010 at Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on March 22, 1930 in Stone, KY to Virgil and Lucy (Belcher) Blackburn. She married Elmer Lester on November 20, 1948 in Mouth Card, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1998.

She was a 1949 graduate of Fedscreek High School. Audrey worked as a Laborer for Atlas Industries for twenty years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Clyde Senior Center where she was also a volunteer. She was an avid reader and enjoyed canning, traveling and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Audrey is survived by children, Roderick B.
