How much does it cost to ride the Glacier Express in Switzerland? ›

A: Every moment on the Glacier Express is special, but the route from Andermatt to Disentis truly stands out. This is where you'll cross the Oberalp Pass, offering a panorama of snow-laden vistas in winter and awe-inspiring mountains in summer. This is a must-see part of the journey!

Which side of the train to sit? Eastbound, the right-hand side is best along the Mattertal Valley between Zermatt and Brig, and also between Chur and St Moritz with great views of the the Landwasser Viaduct. In the Rhine Gorge, all the river scenery is on the left. Westbound, it'll obviously be the opposite side.

How many stops does the Glacier Express have and can you hop on and off? You can board the Glacier Express at either end. There are stops en route at Brig, Andermatt, Disentis, Chur, Tiefencastel, Filisur and Samedan, and you can hop off or on at any of them.
